The Don't Fall Down in the Hood program stands alone as Philadelphia's (as well as Pennsyvania's) ONLY gun violence prevention program. For the past ten years, the program has rehabilitated juvenile offenders in the areas of possession and use of firearms, as well as, the frequency of assault, theft, and narcotics.

With an 85% success rate, Don't Fall Down in the Hood is among the most successful juvenile violence intervention programs in the nation.

Don't Fall Down in the Hood is one of twelve programs operated by The Institute for the Development of African-American Youth, Inc. (IDAAY).

IDAAY is a community-based, non-profit organization, serving Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties. S. Archye Leacock founded IDAAY in May 1991 in response to the alarming statistics characterizing disadvantaged youth in the Philadelphia area. To address these issues, the organization's expressed purpose is to serve and empower youth at risk.
